The Finnish Quality Award 2000

The Tapiola General Mutual Insurance Company (Tapiola General) was rewarded with the Finnish Quality Award 2000 in the category of companies operating in the service branch. Tapiola is the first insurance company to win this award and it received the highest score ever during the history of the award.

The rating arguments are used as indicators for development

Since the middle of the 1990s Tapiola has used the rating criterias for the award when developing competitiveness and its business. By using these arguments Tapiola is able to measure and compare the competitiveness with other domestic or international organisations.

The winner of the award is designated based on eight different sectors: leadership, the process of strategic planning and execution of the plan, service and market mindedness, efficiency, development of the personnel’s competence and know-how, wellbeing and satisfaction, mastering the processes, results and the influence on society.

The jury awarded Tapiola on the following grounds:

Tapiola has perceived the needs and demands of the interest groups in an excellent manner. The company is actively gathering information on the customers’ needs and satisfaction, and this information is used to develop the business. Tapiola has committed itself to increase the personnel’s know-how and wellness at work, which has resulted in a satisfied personnel and long-term employments.
