The American A.M. Best Co, the oldest and a highly respected rating institution specialising in the insurance business, awarded Tapiola General the rating A (Excellent). A.M. Best has rated Tapiola since 2006 and the rating has been A (Excellent) on each occasion.
According to A.M. Best's press release, the excellent rating of Tapiola General was due especially to the company’s high solvency and strong risk-carrying capacity.
The rating is required in the insurance and banking business when demanded by the customer or cooperation partner. Regarding the brand and reputation, a good rating increases the reliability and appreciation.
The rating A (Excellent) by A.M. Best is e.g. equivalent to Standard & Poor’s rating AA (Very Strong) and Moody’s rating Aa (Excellent). Source: Swiss Re, Sigma No.4/ 2003
